INTERNAL CLEANSING

A FEW TIPS

Purifying the bloodstream,detoxifying the tissues,and cleansing the internal organs of metabolic wastes and digestive debris accumulated from decades of wrong food,medicine,and habits is by far the most important first step on the path to renewed health and rejuvenation.

Toxic tissues,impure blood, clogged colons, and swollen livers release a constant stream of poisons that pollutes the entire system largely negating the benefits of herbal therapy. Cleansing diets are very beneficial to the health and well-being of the body. They are very effective durning colds, flu or illness. They will help clean and purify the body of excess mucus and toxins. The body has the ability to rid itself of toxins if it is given a chance. Toxins are expelled through the skin(which needs to be kept clean and scrubbed), nose, mouth, stomach and colon. The purpose of cleansing is to eliminate excessive mucus and toxins. Under normal circumstances, mucus is a normal secretion of the body's mucus membranes to keep the lining of the throat, nose and alimentary canal lubricated. Excess mucus is thick, sticky and cloudy and attracts toxins, germs, worms and parasites. Then the wrong kind of mucus is produced in the digestive tract, lymphatic system, bowels, lungs, reproductive organs and connective tissues.

A toxic body creates an atmosphere where germs accumulate and viruses can live and cause all kinds of diseases. A toxic body causes allergies, arthritis, cancer ,cysts, depression and many other diseases that we are faced with today.

One must be prepared mentally before undertaking any new cleansing fast or change of diet. One has to want to feel better, or get better badly enough to want to change their present diet. Many people can testify of the benefits of changing their eating habits and going on a cleansing regime. They feel better physically and mentally.

A cleansing diet may produce unpleasant side effects.

When undertaking a cleansing diet, your body will crave all the junk foods you have ever eaten. You will have strong urges to eat sweet foods and fatty foods. It could produce headaches, fatigue, nausea, depression, gas and bloating.

One very common side effect when cleansing the body is a general overall bad feeling. If you are not prepared mentally for the unpleasant side effects, you will want to toss in the towel and give up all together because you will convince yourself that the cleanse is making you sick. If this happens, just slow down on the cleanse. Take the herbs every other day until you can take them everyday, but keep up with the diet (food that you eat on this cleanse).

When the body is cleansing it dumps toxins into the bloodstream and produces unpleasant feelings until all the toxins are eliminated. It will be well worth all you have to endure durning a cleansing diet, but you will feel so good after the cleanse you will want to kick up your heels and go dancing. You will also want to kick yourself for not doing this sooner.

BREAKFAST FOODS

Take your cleansing herbs along with the juice of 1 fresh squeezed lemon in 8floz. of good water.

    Eat Fruit Only
  • apples
  • apricots
  • grapes
  • cherries
  • papayas (very good for digestion)
  • peaches
  • pears
  • pineapples
  • plums
  • persimmons
  • berries and melons
  • You can eat up to 1/2 pound of fruit
  • LUNCH FOODS

    Take your cleansing herbs along with the juice of 1 fresh squeezed lemon in 8floz. of good water.

      Lunch should be the largest meal of the day.

    • Use 1 cup of brown rice and millet cooked together, or 1 cup of millet and buckwheat or 1 cup of brown rice and buckwheat. Season with vegetable seasoning, garlic, onions, etc.
    • Chew this very well because the enzymes to digest grains are in the mouth, if you do not chew well you may have indigestion. Just like you mother says chew, chew and chew.
    • Make a vegetable salad with any 5 of the following vegetables.Raw vegetables only.
    • leaf lettuce
    • asparagus
    • green beans
    • beets
    • broccoli
    • brussel sprouts
    • carrots
    • cauliflower
    • cucumber
    • celery
    • endive
    • fresh corn
    • onions
    • parsley
    • Jerusalem artichokes
    • parsnips
    • radishes
    • rutabagus
    • spinach
    • sprouts (very little)
    • squash
    • swiss chard
    • tomatoes
    • turnips
    • Use fresh lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil to season.
    • If you are still hungry add some lightly steamed vegetables,ie:artichokes, carrots, potatoes (red), broccoli, cauliflower or squash.

    SUPPER FOODS

    Take your cleansing herbs along with the juice of 1 fresh squeezed lemon in 8floz. of good water.

    • Supper is very much like lunch. Raw vegetable salads, brown rice, millet and buckwheat. You can make raw vegetable soups for a change. Here is a recipe.
    • Raw soups contain live enzymes that are essential for good health.
    • 3 cups of vegetable broth
    • 1 cup of tomato sauce
    • 1 T. extra virgin olive oil
    • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
    • 2 T. vegetable broth powder.

      Heat all ingredients and simmer for 10 min. Remove from heat and add the following raw vegetables.

    • 1/2 cup grated carrots
    • 1/2 cup grated celery
    • 1/2 cup sweet corn
    • 1/2 cup fresh peas
    • 1 small chopped onion
    • 2 fresh tomatoes cut in small pieces
    • 2 sprigs of fresh parsley.
    • You can experiment with different vegetables for this soup.

      My husband and I used this for our first herbal cleanse 10 years ago. It is really a good one. You can stay on this for up to 3 months. We were on it for 2 months and then began to add different foods ie: all kinds of legumes, tofu, all vegetables, dairy products,breads, nuts and animal protein. After about 2 weeks on this cleanse I really felt like Super Women, remember it was our first cleanse and it had a very dramatic effect on our health and mental state . After that I was absolutely hooked on herbs and changing my eating habits. We did not have any of the side effects spoken of in this article, but I have known people who have had some of the side effects.So if you do have some unwanted side effects, then just slow down on the cleanse. Take your herbs every other day or cut your cleansing herbal intake by 1/2 daily. Do what makes you be able to handle it but don't stop all together. You can also keep up with your healthy eating even if you have to slow down on the herbs.
